With the combination of facebook social capital

With the combination of facebook social capital
Facebook provides a great way  from any individuals to connect and further expand
their network.   Having access to a large  heterogeneous network of individuals can
pose  benefits and equally,  disadvantages.  Social networks  sites  generally are  treated
with the same  criticism that e ngulfed technologies like the  television and the Internet
when they first emerged.  “However, the role that these sites play in the accrual of
positive bonding outcomes should not be overlooked, especially  when considering
that strong ties often become geographically dispersed over time and are thus unable
to spend quality face - to - face time together”
We will carry out a survey in facebook,The investigation seeks to find if  Facebook intensity  is correlated with high bonding social capita l,  following similar work by  Williams ( 2006) and  Ellison et al. ( 2007).
Based on existing literature and the purpose of the investigation being  conducted, the
following hypotheses are proposed:
Null Hypothesis: The use of Facebook is not correlated with high bonding capital.
Alternative Hypothesis : The u se of Facebook is  correlated with high bonding capital

We from 50 Birmingham university students to launch an investigation, finally has 34 people help us complete the investigation
Through the survey we found,Half proud to tell people I on facebook and Facebook has become a part of daily life, and Half a person feel lose touch, when I am not logged in facebook for a while,Most people don't want to shut down facebook

Bonding Social Capital , Through the survey can be found,Most people have a few people trust me solve my problem,Most people if you need emergency loans 100. Know that can help people, and Most people can also through the facebook introduced to good work,Part of the people do not know well enough to get them to do anything important
We then data make it histogram,Individual items range from  1=strongly disagree to 7=strongly agree ,The data shown in Figure suggest  normally distribution  tendencies, since there is a there is a larger concentration of  values in the middle than at the extremes.  The largest frequencies  for Facebook intensity are found in the 3 –  5 range, but  the frequency plot does n ot reveal any outliers.
We'll make a histogram of welding and social capital, peak at the beginning in the 2 - 3 range, then the frequency for bonding capital peaks again in the remaining ranges. However, the major ity of the data is concentrated in the 4 –  5.5 range , with the frequency peaking 9 for bonding capital in the 4.5- 5 range.
We put the statistical data make it scatter diagram, ,From the results in the scatterplot we can say with some confidence that the two variables have little to no correlation since there is no clear predictability in the variable changes ; however there is a clustering that is evident.
Finally, we make Facebook strength box plot and combined with capital box plot,Similar to the histograms the above boxplots (Figure 4 and Figure 5) do not shows any outliers.  The Facebook intensity shows a range of about 4.2, while the range for bonding capital is around 3.8.  Both boxplots do show a similar skewness pattern with observations being concentrated to the higher end of the scale.
The investigation  found  that there is a weak negative  co rrelation between Facebook use and bonding social capital. This greatly differs from the alternative hypothesis
that was suggested since it stated that there is a positive correlation between the two variables. The p value suggested the result was not significant therefore we  could not
reject the null hypothesis.
These results differ from Ellison  et al.  ( 2007) report which suggest that there was a
positive correlation between the variables. However, the results seem to corr espond
with Vitak et al. ( 2011) study which stated that “the relationship between Facebook
use and perceived bonding social cap ital, however, is not as  clear”  (Vitak, Ellison, &
Steinfield, 2011) .   This  lack of  clarity in the correlation might be explained by the fact
that the sample for the study was  limited a specific localised  community , maybe the
data will vary with an expanded population.  Facebook has also greatly expanded since
the  Ellison, et al. ( 2007) report,  its is n olonger limited to university students only,
therefore the community is now larger and more diverse. This might mean users now
invest time on the site connecting with weaker ties which greatly affect bonding social
capital  (Vitak , Ellison, & Steinfield, 2011) .  To included in the instrumentation for
futhre studies might be a measurement of whom the users are actually connecting
with when they are on the site, because they might be employing other means to
communicate with their  closest ties.  Another limitation could have been that the
instrumentation wasn’t measuring the Fac ebook use over a period of  time; this should
be implemented in future studies.
Through a series of investigation,The conclusion of the investigation is that there is a weak correlation between the variables; we cannot however support this with great given the limitations of the investigation
